BIG DIPPER - Jay Leno’s new primetime show was expecting to see a drop in the ratings after the big premier Monday night, but not like this. The show’s viewership dropped 42% in the all-important 18-49 demographic.

Certainly it had nothing to do with his guest list, including Michael Moore, who charmed the audience with a little song. Though critics have been generous so far, one found the show’s comedy bits “excruciating.”

Even with the drop, Leno came in number one for that hour, helped along by taking the timeslot following the season premier of “The Biggest Loser.”
