HOW MANY FRIENDS DOES PUTIN HAVE? – Facebook announced Tuesday it is taking $200 million in funding from Digital Sky Technologies, a Russian investment company. DST will be a strategic partner for Facebook’s eastern European growth.
Sources from DST report the company is close with the Russian government. Although involvement on Facebook from the Russian government is highly unlikely, a close relationship with the government will make business development in the country a little easier.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated the social networking site’s revenue is up and the company is “open to interesting offers.” Zuckerberg attributes DST’s financial achievements and global perspective as reasons for securing the investment.
